[9:39 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles sits under a large tree, legs crossed, breathing deeply. His eyes are closed and he has a smile on his face.
[9:40 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire was sitting not too far away, attempting the same thing as the monk, but to no avail
[9:42 PM] Mango: Elwyn arrived and passed them on his horse Michel. "Huh?" He turned around and watched them. "Meditation, huh..."
[9:42 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire looks up. She waves hello to not disturb
[9:45 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Were you gonna meditate?" she leans forward, whispering
[9:52 PM] Mango: "I don't think I can just...meditate wherever." Elwyn whispered back.
[9:52 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "That makes two of us... I'm just trying it out."
[9:57 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles sighs and stretches his arms and neck
[9:59 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I'm Claire, what's your name?"
[10:00 PM] Mango: "It's Elwyn. Who's that guy over there?" He pointed to Versailles
[10:01 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "He's Versailles"
[10:03 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "What brings you here?"
[10:04 PM] Mango: "I'm just walking about, I just finished meeting up with a friend. You?"
[10:05 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I'm trying out meditating with him...it's Not working out for me."
[10:06 PM] Mango: "I used to do meditation back at the Monastery I was in..."
[10:07 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Why did you leave?"
[10:09 PM] Mango: "Oh, I left in order to spread good faith I suppose. I've been there for about...five years?"
[10:09 PM] Mango: "I do have my other reasons as well."
[10:10 PM] Mango: "After I'm done though, I do plan on returning."
[10:13 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Do you remember how you did meditation? I would ask him" she points at Versailles "but I don't want to disturb him"
[10:14 PM] Mango: "Well. I suppose it's the same as sleeping. You just sit and relax and try to block out every other noise."
[10:15 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "That is not how I sleep at all... But I'll try"
[10:17 PM] [SPICY] bemun: She closes her eyes
[10:18 PM] Mango: "Perhaps I'll join in. I hope it's fine with you, and maybe Versailles as well."
[10:18 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I don't mind, and I'm sure he won't either."
[10:22 PM] Mango: Elwyn sat down beside Claire and started to meditate as well."
[10:22 PM] [SPICY] bemun: gurgle
[10:23 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles opens his eyes to look at the sound. He notices Elwyn and looks to Claire for an explanation.
[10:26 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire is too busy being embarassed at her stomach growling
[10:26 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Oh, his name is Elwyn, he used to meditate and wanted to try again."
[10:27 PM] spikethe3rd: Confused by the explanation Versailles stands up and stretches. He walks over to the two.
[10:28 PM] spikethe3rd: "I don't mean to disturb you Elwyn, but it appears Claire is hungry. Would you care to join us for a meal?"
[10:31 PM] Mango: "Oh, I don't mind."
[10:31 PM] Mango: "And...to expand on Claire's explanation. I am a priest of the Monastery in Izumo. Which could explain the whole meditating thing."
[10:33 PM] spikethe3rd: "Interesting, how about we continue our introductions while we walk." Versailles holds out his hands to help the two stand up.
[10:34 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire grabs his hand
[10:34 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles helps her up and re-extends his hand to Elwyn
[10:36 PM] Mango: Elwyn takes the hand. "Thank you."
[10:37 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles helps him up and notices Michel
[10:37 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Izumo... I've never heard of that land. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like its from Hoshido?"
[10:38 PM] Mango: "It's a neutral country. It's not part of Nohr or Hoshido. I'm Nohrian myself."
[10:39 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Ah, my mistake..."
[10:39 PM] Mango: Elwyn mounted his horse. "Speaking of which, are you also from Nohr? Your armor reminds me of the ones from there..."
[10:39 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Yes I am. A knight of Nohr."
[10:40 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles motions to Claire to start walking.
[10:40 PM] spikethe3rd: "How coincidental. Two visiting all the way from Nohr. Truly a small world!"
[10:41 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire begins to walk. "It seems so."
[10:42 PM] Mango: Elwyn joins them. "What about you, Sir Versailles?"
[10:43 PM] spikethe3rd: "Haha, 'Sir'. There are no need for formalities with me. We are all equal. Your question though! I am a monk from the south of Freyzenwald." He smiled.
[10:44 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "So Elwyn, you were priest? How was that?"
[10:56 PM] Mango: "Well, it was pretty OK. I've made a few friends here and there and learned many things. It's also where I learned to use healing magic."
[10:58 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I was always told to be thankful for healing magic, as it's what keeps us knights fighting"
[10:58 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "But I never understood it"
[10:58 PM] Mango: "Well, you wouldn't want to be covered in cuts and bruises and such for a whole war now?"
[10:59 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Oh don't get me wrong, I feel blessed to know that healing magic is practised."
[11:00 PM] Mango: "Well, there is also first aid. I presume you might have been taught that?"
[11:00 PM] Mango: "I taught myself just in case I don't have my staves with me."
[11:01 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Heh, I had to ask mother. My father never taught me first aid. He said a knight of his blood doesn't need such skills."
[11:02 PM] Mango: "I'm sure some of that blood was spilt on the field thanks to his nonexistant knowledge in first aid then?"
[11:02 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Heh, I would hear stories where he would be inhumanely wounded, and he would still fight as strong as 100 men"
[11:03 PM] Mango: "I see..."
[11:03 PM] spikethe3rd: "Overconfidence is a flimsy shield..." Versailles quoted.
[11:03 PM] Mango: "First Aid can still be very useful." Elwyn pulled the his robes sleeve to show his arm covered up.
[11:04 PM] spikethe3rd: "Oh my, what happened?"
[11:04 PM] Mango: "A couple of accidents here and there during my travels. I've also had the displeasure of meeting a few unpleasant people too."
[11:05 PM] Mango: "Any little thing can be a detriment to your health somehow. So I do as much as I can and wait for the Gods judgement."
[11:05 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Goodness."
[11:05 PM] Mango: "So far I've been successful, so I think I'm doing OK."
[11:06 PM] Mango: Elwyn let the sleeve go.
[11:07 PM] Mango: "I don't think I would've gotten far without my knowledge of self-care. Even if we do have the power of healing magic, it won't be useful if we lose the use of our arms. So we have to do what we can."
[11:08 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I...see. Good thing I managed to learn some first aid."
[11:08 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles nods. "It is truly hard for me to see others in pain. I'm glad that we can both help others."
[11:09 PM] Mango: "The feeling is mutual. Should the situation arise, I always have to rush to the scene."
[2:45 PM] spikethe3rd: "Luckily, I have not lived through war." Versailles sighs deeply. "That would push me hard."
[2:47 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I haven't thought that deeply into war... Now that I do, it feels like the madness of it alone could kill me."
[2:49 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles smiles. "You are strong though Claire. I do not wish you to war, but I know that you are capable of surviving it."
[2:50 PM] Mango: "I do hope war doesn't happen around here, it's very peaceful. I'd hate to see it ruined..."
[2:50 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Who can tell? I can't but feel uneasy about the election party."
[2:51 PM] Mango: "All we can do is place our trusts in the Gods decision then."
[2:52 PM] spikethe3rd: "Have heart! Tensions are high from the election. Once it is over, all will be normal again!"
[2:53 PM] Mango: "Versailles is right, positivity can do wonders at a time like this."
[2:56 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Right, it won't help to feel scared."
[3:01 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Any ideas for what to eat?"
[3:02 PM] spikethe3rd: "Hmm... it all looks so good. What do you want?"
[3:04 PM] Mango: "Anything is good, being a picky eater isn't a nice trait."
[3:06 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I'm good with anything, but I feel like we're too open with our tastes..."
[3:09 PM] spikethe3rd: "How about here?" Versailles points to a place serving large cuts of meat on noodles.
[3:12 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire attempts to read the sign
[3:15 PM] Mango: "Ah, that looks good!"
[3:15 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "F-foe?"
[3:16 PM] spikethe3rd: "Ha ha! Its pronounced 'Fuh' Claire." Versailles smiles, walking inside
[3:16 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Fuh?"
[3:16 PM] Mango: "I really like the atmosphere..." Elwyn walked back in.
[3:17 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Never smelt this before..."
[3:17 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "It smells, really good though."
[3:19 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles sits down and motions for the two to join him
[3:19 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire sits in the seat across from him
[7:30 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles motions to the chef for 3 bowls of food and the chef nods.
[7:32 PM] Mango: "So, what brings you two here?"
[7:32 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "The festival"
[7:33 PM] Mango: "You mean the one that's going to be hosted soon?"
[7:33 PM] spikethe3rd: "I came to visit my mother who runs a shop in Amaterasu. But I am also staying for the festival."
[7:33 PM] spikethe3rd: "The festivities of the election."
[7:34 PM] Mango: "I got an invitation to come here. Apparently news of what I do reached here, so here I am."
[7:34 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "An invitation? From who? If you don't mind me asking"
[7:35 PM] Mango: "Don't know, probably someone big."
[7:36 PM] Mango: "I haven't really done much, I'm just doing the right thing anyone would've done."
[7:43 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Clearly, you've done enough to be invited."
[7:44 PM] spikethe3rd: "Ha ha, probably just being modest about it. Elwyn probably caught someones eye with his actions." Versailles smiled.
[7:45 PM] spikethe3rd: "Maybe he is so kind that his generous actions are second nature to him."
[7:46 PM] Mango: "I am not worthy of your praise, you two. Save them for someone who truly deserves them." He smiled.
[7:47 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Your humbleness is only preaching of your good deeds Elwyn."
[7:48 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles nods in agreement.
[7:54 PM] Mango: "Goodness gracious..." Elwyn chuckled.
[8:11 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Anyways, what is this, "Phuh?"
[8:12 PM] Mango: Elwyn shrugged. "Don't know, but it looks pretty nice."
[8:13 PM] spikethe3rd: "Its a rice noodle and pork. There is also a broth which you can add seasoning to." Versailles motions to the leafy greens and spices on the table in a bowl.
[8:15 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire grabs a bowl and looks at the contents
[8:17 PM] Mango: "I see, it sounds good too."
[8:17 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire puts the spices back
[8:23 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I wonder what those taste like." Claire says still concentrating on the slices
[8:25 PM] Mango: "Why not put some in your food and try it out?"
[8:26 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I'm worried because it might put in the soup a taste I don't like, ruining the flavour of the whole bowl..."
[8:27 PM] spikethe3rd: "Then just taste the spice! If you don't like it, then you won't need to use it."
[8:27 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Oh yeah, I could do that."
[8:28 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Claire feels dumb
[8:28 PM] [SPICY] bemun: She breaks her chopsticks
[8:29 PM] [SPICY] bemun: She somehow managed to snap them in half
[8:29 PM] [SPICY] bemun: Across the center
[8:29 PM] Mango: "Oh, my..."
[8:29 PM] spikethe3rd: "Not again..." Versailles says slightly defeatedly.
[8:30 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Why do I even bother with chopsticks?"
[8:32 PM] spikethe3rd: "Because you are willing to try! Not everything is as quick as we hope. 'A warriors greatest weapon..." Versailles stops talking.
[8:33 PM] spikethe3rd: After a moment, "Is patience."
[8:34 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "I'll just ask for a fork...."
[8:38 PM] Mango: "Using these is quite easy once you've get the hang of it." Elwyn starts using his chopsticks properly. "My time traveling was well spent in interacting with other cultures."
[8:40 PM] spikethe3rd: "Oh? Any stories from your travels?"
[8:40 PM] Mango: "I don't really have much to tell, all I've been doing is trying to stop the practice of slave trade."
[8:41 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Ugh, slavery disgusts me."
[8:42 PM] Mango: "Same for me."
[8:43 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles just shakes his head at the thought
[8:43 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "Who would still practise such a horrible thing?'
[8:43 PM] Mango: "Plenty of others, you'll be surprised on how many people I've stopped."
[8:44 PM] Mango: "Judging a book by its cover gets you nowhere, the same goes for what I've been doing. Can you really assume such a nice person would be active in the slave trade scene? It could be anyone."
[8:45 PM] spikethe3rd: "No man is worth less than any other.' My mentor taught me that. That is why I try to see good in all people." Versailles smiles at Elwyn. "I am glad to have met someone who has made such a difference."
[8:46 PM] spikethe3rd: "I would find it hard to talk to people who participate in such acts. How do you explain to them it is wrong?" Versailles shakes his head.
[8:46 PM] spikethe3rd: "Some people just don't understand basic rights..."
[8:46 PM] Mango: "I know...it's terrible."
[8:47 PM] [SPICY] bemun: "How do you face such atrocities?"
[8:49 PM] Mango: "With determination. I've decided to do this ever since I've helped a friend escaped a long time ago."
[8:49 PM] Mango: "I suppose the worst part of it was saving them for my own parents, the people who should have my utmost trust..."
[8:53 PM] spikethe3rd: "Well, you did not inherit that from them, and have even done good for more." Versailles crosses his arms. "May I ask?How did that end up for you and your parents? Did they react badly?"
[8:54 PM] Mango: "It was...very bad."
[8:55 PM] Mango: "But it's all in the past. I've done what I could for the others I couldn't save."
[8:55 PM] Mango: "I hope they're resting well knowing that their captors have been brought to justice." He smiled.
[8:56 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles nods in understanding. "It is not easy to part ways knowing someone is still in trouble, but I am glad to hear that you move on."
[8:57 PM] Mango: "Let's change the topic, it's quite depressing." Elwyn took a bite of his food. "Mmh...this tastes quite nice, I suppose the crowd around here is justified then."
[8:58 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles smiles again. "Yes, I myself am more of a fan of meat from livestock." He takes a bite of his pork.
[9:02 PM] spikethe3rd: "Oh, I was so caught up in asking you questions I forgot you don't know about us. Do you have any questions Elwyn?"
[9:04 PM] Mango: "Ah, well...none, really. I suppose I can ask the usual 'what do you do?' Type of question."
[9:06 PM] spikethe3rd: "Ha ha, its okay to ask anything. I am a monk who has spent his days learning philosophy and meditating on life's questions."
[9:07 PM] Mango: "I see..."
[9:09 PM] Mango: "I go on accepting what the Gods have given me. I know I changed the subject, but it was...quite ironic that they've let me know about my parents true nature in such a way." He smiled as he played around with his food.
[9:12 PM] spikethe3rd: "In our failings we still succeed, In our victories we still fail." Versailles quoted.
[9:13 PM] Mango: "Sounds quite about right."
[9:14 PM] Mango: "I suppose I must have done something in a past life that had the Gods do this, I suppose..."
[9:15 PM] Mango: "I can only take each experience and use them to work upon myself for the greater good."
[9:15 PM] spikethe3rd: "Ah, so you believe in reincarnation? And also in Karma?"
[9:17 PM] Mango: "It's what I learned in the Monastery. So..."
[9:19 PM] spikethe3rd: "I see. It is hard to not believe our mentors when they tell us all their wisdom. I would like to think that I think for myself, but I still mirror my teacher." Versailles shakes his head. "I know its not important though. I live for now, do what I can now. It helps me forgive those in my past."
[9:22 PM] Mango: "Seeing is believing, I suppose. I just wonder what I did to get a punishment, but accepting and moving on is all I can do."
[9:24 PM] spikethe3rd: "I think that if you are a very strong person. It is not easy to accept the world as it is handed to us, but to form it in a better way, That is truly holy."
[9:26 PM] Mango: "I suppose you're right about that."
[9:27 PM] spikethe3rd: "But! Let us not dwell on decisions made and mental battles fought! Let us enjoy each other's company."
[9:33 PM] Mango: "Yes, you're very right about that!"
[9:37 PM] spikethe3rd: "So, have you met others in Amaterasu?"
[9:41 PM] Mango: "I've met a few others. A dancer by the name of Vivianna, a vigilante called Leodin, and the head of security who goes by Kazama."
[9:45 PM] spikethe3rd: "Wow! That's quite a group. I'm afraid I've only had the chance to talk to a couple people. Claire and a Dwabi man, Sula." Versailles paused for a moment trying to remember.
[9:45 PM] spikethe3rd: "OH! I also met a Wolfskin who turned out to be a dragon!"
[9:48 PM] Mango: "Really? That sounds very interesting!"
[9:48 PM] Mango: "I've also met Sula before, too."
[9:49 PM] spikethe3rd: "Really? He is an interesting man." Versailles laughed. "I suppose Amaterasu is a smaller city than I thought."
[9:58 PM] Mango: "Yeah..." Elwyn ate some more of his food. "Still, that isn't such a bad thing."
[10:02 PM] spikethe3rd: "No of course not! For if it was too large I would not have met Claire and we would not have met you."
[10:02 PM] Mango: "Meeting someone who shares the same views is always a nice surprise."
[10:03 PM] spikethe3rd: "Haha, May there never be a lack of those with good will!"
[10:06 PM] Mango: "Agreed!"
[10:07 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles stood, "I suppose I should bring Claire back to her Inn room." He motioned to Claire who had apparently passed out after eating.
[10:08 PM] spikethe3rd: "And here I spent so much time trying to get her to meditate..."
[10:09 PM] Mango: "I see, then I suppose its time for us to part?
[10:10 PM] spikethe3rd: "I suppose so. May our paths cross again. Perhaps at the election party?"
[10:12 PM] Mango: "Perhaps earlier, you never know." He waved.
[10:13 PM] spikethe3rd: Versailles picked up Claire and walked off, giving a half-wave with one of his hands.
