[AG2] A New Shop

Featuring: Collette, Sabato, Emily, Leodin

[2:21 PM] Weiss Schnee: The red-headed merchant smirked, glancing back at the room she'd commandeered from the rebels in Fort Ikkigane, in exchange for selling weapons and supplies to them. Alright, time to make gold...while helping to put assholes out of power. She fixed her hat, doing inventory while waiting for someone to walk in. ...I totally put the board out right? She poked her head out the door, Ms. Fay's Grand Wares...yep. I did.
[2:29 PM] Kwakado: "Oh, whoa...what's this?" With a crooked smile, Sabato the Slicknose saunters into the room with the unfamiliar sign. "Hello, there!" In the doorway was a stout man, somewhere around 5 and a half feet, with bushy brown sideburns draping a prominent forehead. The rest of his hair was in an elegant topknot, and his eyes were closed almost into slits as they surveyed the room. "My, my...so many exotic weapons...."
[2:34 PM] Weiss Schnee: Without her boots, the merchant would normally stand at height with Sabata. With them, as she was now, she was about an inch taller. She perked up at the potential customer, "Hello there! Welcome to Ms. Fay's Grand Wares! I am, of course, Ms. Collette Fay." She flourished, with a small bow. Standing back up straight, "Would you be looking for something in particular, sir...?"
[2:38 PM] Kwakado: "Oh...?" The man grinned glibly, his prominent oily nose seeming to sparkle in the dim light. "I'm just, making sure you've...properly introduced yourself..." His deep, rolling voice moved at a glacial pace, making the most of every syllable he spoke. "..not many shopkeepers around here, that I haven't met...you know?"
[2:41 PM] Weiss Schnee: "I'm a fair merchant, hoping to make my living while sticking it to the man, sir." She smirked, "I won't hide, I'm from Nolore but Amia's been my home for past half decade and such conflict saddens me." She spoke, putting on the sad eyes and laying her bangled hands over her heart.
[2:44 PM] Kwakado: "Hmmm..." Even his hum was strangely resonant, falling precariously in pitch until it suddenly stopped. Looking back, Sabato moved out of the way of the visitor.
[2:44 PM] M I K A: Emily peeks in, looking around at all the sharp and very pointy weapons in the store. Well it wasn't like he could fight but it was also something to do. The boy walks in long blond away swaying behind him and bright pink eyes looking every which way. "Hello..is this a new shop?"
[2:48 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette grinned, half-hopping into a more relaxed pose, her half-cloak and hair bouncing, "Yes, this does happen to be a new shop, kiddo. Looking for something in particular or just browsing?"
[2:49 PM] Kwakado: Sabato steps back, glancing with squinted eyes at the selection of katanas on the wall. Out of the corner of his eye, he watches the other two with a blank, cordial expression. Time to see if she's legit.
[2:54 PM] M I K A: "Browsing..I guess. I don't fight really." He pulls out an ornate flute. "I play this for the rebels to keep their spirits up." He moves some hair out of his face. "So..maybe a dagger for protection.."
[2:56 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Daggers, huh?" She glanced up and down the kid before nodding, "Alright, how much do you know about daggers? Can't imagine you've had much experience in the past if you've stuck to your music?"
[2:57 PM] M I K A: "Um...you can use them to stab people..what more would one need to know."
[3:01 PM] Weiss Schnee: Cece would have a field day if he heard that answer... "Well, that's a basic answer, but you can also throw daggers and the like." She tapped her right index finger on her chin, bangles clanking. "Truth be told, it's easy to hurt yourself on one, I wouldn't be comfortable selling anything better than a bronze dagger to you. Even then, would you know someone at the fort who can run through the basics with you?"(edited)
[3:04 PM] M I K A: "Bronze? Isn't that sort of weak..I think I could handle something heavier. It's not like you need much training with a knife. I know not to stab myself." He crosses his arms.
[3:07 PM] Kwakado: The singing samurai steps forward, having known the boy for quite some time. They'd worked together a lot in rallying the increasingly-dejected troops, battle after battle. "Emily...you're a great musician. I mean that...but strongest isn't always best." He pulls out a bronze katana of his own, looking worn from age and not battle. A glowing gem in its hilt radiated a safe-looking light. "Miss Fay...she's got the right idea here, you know. A light weapon moves....faster...after all."(edited)
[3:10 PM] Weiss Schnee: "It's only that. Daggers have a particular...style about them." She commented, "They're one of the weapons with the shortest reach after all. Dodging and blocking have to be done correctly so that you don't have the weapon knocked out of your hand...or worse, redirect your opponent's weapon in the wrong direction."
[3:12 PM] M I K A: He seems to finally notice the other man. "Sabato! Well..that makes since." Still he felt left out when they were to fight and he was left behind. "..Maybe something longer then..A sword doesn't seem to hard..or maybe I'd be good with a bow. Just I want to help the rebellion with more then a flute."
[3:14 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette looked over the samurai, "Hmmm, how busy are you, sir? It seems you know little Emily here...I could sell you a brass katana, Emily, if you get the good sir here," She flourished her hand in the direction of Sabato, "To teach you some of the basics."
[3:18 PM] Kwakado: "I'd never say no...to someone who cares so much." Sabato pulls a coin purse from his pocket. "Emily, how about I cover the cost?"
[3:20 PM] M I K A: "Sabato would you really? Thank you!" He smiles and starts to wield his flute like a sword, pretending to fight, coming to an end when he trips over his own feet and falls.
[3:23 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette giggled, leaving the new teacher to help out his student, "Make sure you listen to your teacher here, alright?" She stepped over to a section of the room with katanas on display, picking out a sheathed brass katana, un-sheathing and sheathing it quickly, "500 gold for the katana and sheath."
[3:26 PM] Kwakado: "Now, now, Emily...don't do the nobles any favors, now....Stay healthy." Shaking his head slowly at the boy, he counts out the coins and hands them to the girl. With the scabbard in hand, he gives Emily time to get up.
[3:28 PM] M I K A: He looks embarrassed. "I'm much more graceful then that..What are you doing here anyways Sabato?"
[3:33 PM] Kwakado: "Just, saying hello...to a new friend of the rebellion." Sabato gives the merchant an approving nod. "I'm Sabato the Slicknose...just a humble singer...humble soldier."
[3:36 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Pleasure to have met you both, Emily, Sabato," She nodded as she addressed each person, smiling as she walked to a small table she had set up, "I do so hope that my wares are helpful to you and the rebellion, Sabato the Slicknose..." Collette opened the book that'd been sitting on that table, glancing up at the pair every so often as she wrote into her little black, unmarked book.
[3:37 PM] M I K A: "Oh miss what is your name by the way?"
[3:39 PM] Weiss Schnee: With a flourish of her hand and a small bow, "Ms. Collette Fay of Ms. Fay's Grand Wares. I hope I get the chance to listen to your music before the rebellion moves out. Both of you."
[3:43 PM] Kwakado: "Hmm..." Sabato looks over at Emily. "...Maybe...A little show, for the shopkeep? ...Could bring more customers..."(edited)
[3:44 PM] M I K A: "Well..sure, I'd love playing with you." He wipes his flute off before he starts to play.
[3:45 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Well, I'd never say no to anything that might attract more customers. Go right on ahead~"
[3:47 PM] Kwakado: Sabato listens to the key of the melody, recognizing it soon enough. His heel thumps rhythmically into the floor as his basso voice rumbles out, filling the fort with the sound:
[3:48 PM] Kwakado: Let me tell you a tale for a penny One that you cannot hear anywhere else Not anywhere else I heard from a birdy It doesn't end purdy It doesn't end well No it never ends well~
[4:12 PM] bREWlager: Walking around the fort, Leodin heard the deep voice echoing down the hall. He wasn't too far away; only a few doors down. Upon hearing the lyrics, he recognized them as a song he originally heard from a beggar outside of Intetsu. He also remembered hearing the same lyrics by various other rebels, as it became an unofficial anthem of sorts for some of them. He found the source of the melody and joined in, standing just inside the doorway. "Let me spin you a yarn for a cent Gods, would it not be a sin For you to deny yourselves A tale~"(edited)
[4:14 PM] Weiss Schnee: Oh~? Collette grinned, resting her elbows on a counter in front of her, My, my, quite the musical talent this rebellion has. No wonder they've had high morale...
[4:19 PM] Kwakado: "And the Bold...shows his face!" Sheathing his sword, Sabato applauds with slow, sharp claps. "Sort of....heh, heh....Mister Leodin, this is......Collette Fay. Collette..." A balled hand comes to Sabato's heart, as he suddenly gets a little serious. "...the successor, to Godfried the Bold."
[4:20 PM] bREWlager: Leodin bows. "A pleasure to meet you Collette."
[4:26 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette applauded the performance, "A stupendous impromptu performance." Upon the introduction, she bowed in greeting, "And a pleasure to meet you, Sir Leodin. Quite the honor you carry."
[4:27 PM] M I K A: He grins and walks closer. "Leodin, sir, I didn't think you knew this song."
[4:31 PM] bREWlager: "It's quite common among the other rebel camps, actually."
[4:34 PM] Kwakado: "Yes, it's been.....quite some time since you were here in Ikkigane." Sabato motions proudly to the flautist. "Emily here, just took his first step...to becoming a swordsman."
[4:36 PM] M I K A: He blushes. "I..well I want to be more help to the rebellion and I think learning how to..use a weapon would help." He mocks a sword battle with his flute, almost falling again. "Pretty good right."
[4:37 PM] bREWlager: "You'll get there Emily. It took me a very long time to learn, and I didn't have any teachers."
[4:38 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette grinned, "Well, Emily here is going to have Sir Sabato to teach him, so that's one advantage he has on you."
[4:41 PM] Kwakado: "Oh, I'm...nothing special, in that way." Sabato raises his arms as if to fan a flame in front of him. "He'd be better off, learning from our talented young swordsman here."
[4:43 PM] bREWlager: "Oh, I don't know well I'd do as a teacher, but thank you, Sabato." He turns back to Emily. "If you're willing, I'd be happy to help Sabato teach you."
[4:46 PM] M I K A: He looks very shocked. "Y-You don't have the bother with me Leodin sir..I know you have much more important things to do then teach me."
[4:48 PM] bREWlager: "Nonsense! Helping you learn to fight would be an honor, Emily."
[4:49 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Lucky you, Emily!" Collette exclaimed, "I'm sure you'll be good enough to use that katana in combat soon enough."
[4:53 PM] M I K A: His blush comes back and he looks away. "Thank you sir! I can't wait to sword people! Wait..I mean..." He looks at the door wondering if it would be rude to run.
[4:55 PM] Kwakado: "Good luck....Emily!" Sabato's hand signals something between a wave and a "go ahead."
[4:57 PM] Weiss Schnee: "It was nice to meet you, Emily, Sabato." Collette nodded at the pair in acknowledgement.
[4:57 PM] M I K A: He shakes his head. "I'm not ready yet!" He waves to her. "Nice to meet you too."
[5:10 PM] Kwakado: "A real...honor, to have you around. Really." Checking a paper scroll with a list of things to settle today, Sabato started for the door. Even if the girl was a spy, he'd decided, she was useful enough to have around for the time being. "Come on, Emily...we've got, some training, to do..."(edited)
[5:11 PM] bREWlager: "I'll see you two later. I'm going to stay and look around the shop for a bit."
[5:12 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Thank you for your business~" Collette called out as they left before whirling on Leodin with a grin, "Now, Sir Leodin, are you just browsing or is there something in particular you seek?"
[5:16 PM] bREWlager: "I'm thinking about getting some gems for one of my swords. Do you have a good selection of gems here?"
[5:27 PM] Weiss Schnee: "I like to think that I do~" She brought out a key, opening a case that had been sitting on the table to reveal a large assortment of gems. "I have the simple elemental gems but also a fair number of higher class gems. What were you looking for to augment your sword?"
[5:30 PM] bREWlager: "I was thinking about... thunder and ice." Leodin looked at the assortment of gems, looking at all the different varieties, visibly impressed.
[5:43 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Alright...thunder...and ice." She plucked up the two listed gems, "I can't insert them onto the weapon themselves, you'd need a smith for that." "But! Have you used these elemental gems before or even touched one?" She held one carefully in each of her palms.
[5:47 PM] bREWlager: "Yeah.. I have one in Morderrand here." He pats the blade's sheath.
[5:51 PM] Weiss Schnee: "I see, I see." She nodded, eyeing Leodin up and down, "Alright then, the elemental gems can be a bit volatile then..." Collette carefully set down the two gems, pulling out a small box that opened to reveal a cushion, "The Ice gem's cold to the touch and sometimes, I've had thunder gems shock me." She placed the two gems carefully in, "Box comes with the purchase....500 gold each gem for a total of a thousand gold."
[5:53 PM] bREWlager: Leodin pulls out the correct amount and hands it over. "I'll make sure to be careful with them."
[6:00 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette nods, accepting the money, and opening her black book, "Yep, containing the elements in a gem like that can be dangerous but they tend stabilize when probably put into a weapon." A tiny bit of frost covered the quill pen that Collette used to write in her ledger, but the cold didn't even seem to phase her.
[6:05 PM] bREWlager: "I would assume it's even more concentrated in the higher quality gems..." He looks down to the gem embedded in Morderrand's hilt which contained the gem placed there by Angrim.
[6:13 PM] Weiss Schnee: "I can only imagine. My parents tend to peddle even higher quality goods than what I have now..." Collette's eyes followed Leodin's, "May I ask what type of gem is Morderrand embedded with?"
[6:18 PM] bREWlager: "The sword was made a long time ago... I don't actually know what kind of gem it holds."
[6:21 PM] Weiss Schnee: "Well, it does its job." The merchant eyed the sword for a second longer before returning to her logbook and finishing her records, "And transaction recorded! Were you interested in anything else, Sir Leodin?"
[6:39 PM] bREWlager: Collette might have seen a slight flicker of red lightning come from the gem in Morderrand’s hilt. "No, not that I can think of. Thank you for your help though."
[6:45 PM] Weiss Schnee: ...Oh? She filed away the red lightning she'd seen before grinning and bouncing a bit, "Anything to help the successor of Godfried the Brave! Good luck now, you hear?"
[6:47 PM] bREWlager: "Ah, thank you! You as well." He takes a bow.
[6:49 PM] Weiss Schnee: Collette bowed with a practiced flourish, "Thank you, sir. Good luck with finding someone to embue the gems for you."
[6:53 PM] bREWlager: He nods. "Perhaps I'll see you again, but goodbye for now Collette!" Leodin waves as he walks to the door, a smile on his face.(edited)
[7:00 PM] Weiss Schnee: "I do so hope to see your patronage again, Sir Leodin." She called out as he left. ...quite a shop opening. I wonder who else I'll see.
[7:02 PM] bREWlager: Leodin carries the container with the gems back to his quarters to be taken to a smith later.
[7:02 PM] bREWlager: ===END RP===
