[C6] 11/17: An Ugly Waste of Life

Featuring: Sula, Jean, NPC Sayuri, NPC Nikolai

November 17, 2016
[7:21 PM] Kwakado: With a wounded woman on his saddle, and a small boy in hand, Sula guides Shimi under the columns of smoke rising from the ruins of Kranhai. The air was stained with the smell of war, and the crackling rumbles of the nobles' infernal artillery assaulted his ears from afar. But in truth, Shimi was guiding herself. Her master was so overcome with fury, with grief at the people of this foreign city, that all he saw was a shadow of the past. All he could smell was the burning of palm leaves...the blood of the Dwabi...and the end of his life as he'd known it, once more. And so he cling instinctively to the reins, singing in the tongue of his people. "Khlini-eee....." Sula had no other answers for the crying child. No explanation of the war-god butchering Kranhai, nor any claims to a brighter future. Just a hoarse lullaby - a promise he couldn't keep. "Sula ba-ba-e, Khlini-eee...."
[7:30 PM] Abyssal John John: "Angard! Get down!!!!" The Black Wyvern ducked under the whizzing arrow as Jean quickly smashed the head of the Archer who tried to shot him down with his Adamant Club. Jean should've seen something like this coming. Of course War was going to have travesties like this, destruction further then the eye could see. But this, the Tank he wasn't expecting any of it. All he could smell was the smoke and blood and hear the cries of the people. People he desperately needed to find and save. Everyone was scattered, he had long been broken from the rest of the group as he desperately tried to find somebody, anybody who he was familiar with. Someone he could talk with and make plans with. Though as long as I have Angard on my side I can get through this.... Angard made a sharp cry and Jean turned to her direction to see Sula flying with some survivors. Without a word, Angard flew towards the Dwabi and his Black Pegasus. "Sula! Do you need any help right now? Did you see any of the others around?"
[7:42 PM] Kwakado: "Nanyo! Sayu-ri! Do not make me do this!" The defeated Dwabi shouts a sharp rebuke at the Wyvern Rider...or rather, to the Mage Flier up above, rushing at Sula. Dodging the thunderbolts the brown-haired woman launched at him, Sula lets go of the reins with his only free hand to reach for his scroll....but loses his balance, and grabs the reins once more. As long as he held this child, Sula was defenseless....and the weight of Shimi's passengers made outrunning the pursuing mage impossible. Meanwhile, Sayuri gave her falicorn an encouraging kick to the side, hoping to quell her own hesitation. "Sula!! You..traitor....Slow down, so I can make this quick, dammit!" She launches a volley of volts in front of his path, forcing the Dwabi to turn a different direction. Unaware of the advancing Wyvern, she switches to her standard-issue Ox Spirit to finish off her old friend....(edited)
[7:53 PM] Abyssal John John: Seeing the danger that Sula was in Jean patted on the head Angard. Angard made a quick snort before she rushed up towards the Mage Flier with his Ladies's Night in hand. "I'm sorry I have to do this sweetheart!" With a quick motion Jean lodged the axe into the Black Pegasus's neck and with an ugly gurgle the Pegasus fell to the ground with the rider soon plunging to their unfortunate death. Jean just shook his head. Such an ugly waste of life. Jean had Angard fly back to Sula. "Sula the child can ride with me and Angard! If you keep holding him you'll leave yourself open!"
[8:00 PM] Kwakado: "Gyano, Shimi-e..." At his command, Shimi's glide slows into a hovering flap, and he hands the boy off to Jean. At this distance, Sula's eyes are visibly dim, and dull, and his stance is slack. He looks down to the ground, where Sayuri and her mount lay on gruesome display. Over the years, she had been a great acquaintance, and the only other Mage Flier he had been at all close with. Sula can't find it in himself to hate Jean for killing his friend, though. After all he was the one guilty of stealing an enemy's trust, pretending to be loyal to the Oligarchy. And he would pay for his betrayal soon enough. "...Nanyo, Jean-i. Time to fly away now."(edited)
[8:04 PM] Abyssal John John: Jean nodded worried about the look in Sula's eyes. "Yeah but where too?" Jean thought for bit. "The Port! Perhaps they still have some boats going out right? We could get them there! Have you seen the others at all though? Anybody other then me?"
[8:08 PM] Kwakado: "Not many. We've moved back to the center of Kranhai, they have us surrounded. No way out, now." Sula's responses were brisk, and cold, filled with a fear his face didn't show. "Not far to Valen-heim, Jean-ni, but you have to start flying fast. Time to go home."(edited)
[8:13 PM] Abyssal John John: Jean let out an an audible groan as he furrowed his brow. I would rather be anywhere then there.... But he had to admit perhaps it was the best plan. He could give the others safe haven in his home until everything was in the clear again. Jean let out a heavy sigh. "Well it is our best plan at the time. Let's get going? But what about Vivianna is she alright? I thought she would be with you."
[8:21 PM] Kwakado: "She's going to be fine!" Sula raised his scroll as if to slap the boy with it, and a burning chill filled the air. "...No way out. We're surrounded. I, might be able to create an opening, break their lines....but Jean-ni." Sula lowered his implement, taking a deep breath. "I need you, to take her. Take her, and leave the country as fast as you can. Leave the Demon Queen, and the war."(edited)
[8:25 PM] Abyssal John John: Jean instinctively recoiled when Sula raised his scroll but as soon as he realized that Sula wasn't aiming to harm him he loosened himself up. "Do you want me to find and take Vivianna? That isn't happening Sula! She isn't going to leave without you! And what's this about a Demon Queen? Have you lost your wits?"
[8:33 PM] Kwakado: "This is fate, stupid brat! The army...its leader is the greatest hunter in Khlin...We cannot break her formation, and she will shoot down anyone who tries to fly away." Sula's falicorn lowers to a still-standing inn, and he sets down his passenger at the doorstep, then looks up at Jean. "...I will stop her. At least, long enough to give you a chance to survive."(edited)

[7:51 PM] Abyssal John John: Jean just gave Sula a crazed look. "And get yourself killed Sula? Are you mad! Conri was only able to hold her off barely and he's one of the strongest our army has. She'll shot you out of the skies in seconds! At least let me go with you! Perhaps if we can outnumber her one of us can find an opening!"
[8:00 PM] Kwakado: Sula's eyes wrinkled, as he watched the motion of the wyvern's heavy wings. "That would leave us both dead. I am going to talk to her...try to show her the Nanyo, that we have brought to this land. But if she will not stop, then..!" As the Dwabi turned away, Jean could see that his eyes had begun to well up. "...I would rather lose my life, than my wife."
[8:06 PM] Abyssal John John: Jean just made a heavy sigh. "Fine then I'll find Vivi and get her to safety. Do what you need to do then. Just...just try to not to get yourself killed out there alright Sula. A lot of people still need you Sula. Your death wouldn't do anyone any good." Jean gave Sula a fierce look. "But believe me after she's safe and I've made sure she's okay, I'm coming back to help you whether you want me to or not. Hopefully if I can find some of the others and if they're willing they can help as well...."
[8:12 PM] Kwakado: "Jean-ni--" The Mage Flier rises up to him. "This is not a fight, that we can win. You know this...yes?"
[8:14 PM] Abyssal John John: "I wasn't saying we needed to win Sula. I just want everyone to get out of this alive." Angard turned towards the other direction. "I'm going to look for Vivi for now. Do what you have to do for now Sula. I'll be back to help you." And with that Angard flew into the ruined city disappointing into the dust and smoke.
[8:16 PM] Kwakado: "Haba O Akhra, Shimi-e," he muttered sarcastically, guiding her in the direction of the gargantuan god-gun. "He almost makes you want to doubt the gods, ha ha ha...." And the pair flew onwards, to face their destiny.(edited)
[8:22 PM] Abyssal John John: Watching the city burn from an abandoned rooftop Nikolai smiles in glee. "Look at them all Geneolgia, scurrying about like ants who's nest have been destroyed. It's truly pitiful all of them." The man set his gaze onto the white monster. "But Khlin certainly does have some nice little toys at its disposal. You think it wouldn't be falling apart on the inside with stuff like this. But that doesn't matter to me. I've come here for one purpose and that's that. Geneolgia let's go." Nikolai hopped onto his Demonic Wyvern as he quickly flew through the ruins looking for something.
