[CH9] The Vigilante's Thoughts

Featuring: Leodin, Ellis

March 16, 2017
[11:22 AM] oƃǝlʍǝɹ: "...Ah, and before I forget..." Ellis spoke again, after a pause, "...sir Leodin. Do you care for the lives of your rebels? I hope you are satisfied with the knowledge that I was the one that slew them all in Kranhai."
--- "Gods, Ellis... What have you done?"
The vigilante's thoughts race as he processes the new information. The woman that he had feelings for has been plotting to betray them this whole time? Is this why she had been so distant lately? He could sympathize with Joshua, he had known Princess Ellis even longer than Leodin, and even he didn't know about this.
There was only one thing to do. He had to stop this. He started marching towards Ellis' position, swatting away another enemy as he made his way across the battlefield.
"Ah, yes. Sir...Leodin. You were an interesting one. I had...no intention of capturing your heart, nor did I try very hard...
...But that made it all the more easy for me! And, do not worry, at least I removed those vile nobles from your home country! That is all you wanted, was it not?
"A pity that its new leadership will soon be...me. Hahahahaha-!"
---
"You will never lead Khlin. I won't allow it." Morderrand begins to glow as red lightning dances up and down the blade like never before. The now furious noble fights his way through the enemies, trying to make his way the the front.
  ===============================
After fighting through Ellis' forces, the vigilante was getting fatigued. The shock of learning the truth about Ellis was distracting him, and it was clear that Morderrand's strength was fading as the blade's sparks slowed down. "Conserve your strength, nephew. Live to fight another day." Leodin heard the voice...or had he imagined it? That didn't matter. Leodin ignored the advice and pushed through to try and make it to the end where he could stop Ellis. He came up to a sorcerer and with a last burst of energy, cut them down where they stood. That was it. The vigilante looked around him, no end in sight. He could see his friends pushing through the enemies, unsure of whether they'd make it out. Just then, an arrow came flying down from the bridge above. With uncanny speed, Morderrand dragged itself up to swat the arrow out of the sky. Guess he really is looking out for me. Leodin thought to himself before turning his attention to the creature who shot the arrow. With something resembling a smirk on it's face, the the monster shot again. With Leodin's strength drained, neither he nor Morderrand could save him. The arrow found it's way to Leodin's shoulder. He fell to his knee and dropped his sword, wincing from the pain. "I'm sorry everyone..." Leodin fell unconscious, unable to continue.
