[YJ] Gift for Your Student

Featuring: Sula, Elwyn

December 5, 2016
[4:57 PM] Kwakado: Laughter. Another thud as the man's boot collided with Sula's gut once more, throwing him into the side of a wooden shack. This shantytown at the outskirts of Yuki Jyorou was a recent addition, built by desperate refugees from Khlin who had made their own livelihood for years. The hoshidan text carved into the signs, the threadbare robes of its dwellers, and the air of malaise all around...these too, had been transplanted from the failing oligarchy. It is here, that Sula finds himself surrounded by Khlinese men, jeering as they beat him, with an ornate box beside him. One of the assailants tears it open, yanking out a silvery child-sized kite and a brightly-colored book. "The fuck are these, Dwabby?!" The young man tosses the book to his friend, who looks it over with a shrug. He tears out a page, crumples it up and throws it at Sula. "You get lost lookin fer' ya little brat, butler boy?" Sula leans against the shack wall, pressing a flat palm to its bark, as he lets out a soft Ommm. He does not reach for the Freyzenese scroll at the side of his robe.

[12:54 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: Elwyn rode by on Michel, stopping as he noticed that Sula was being beaten by a group of Khlinese ruffians. Elwyn wanted to ride to his side, but he doesn't have anything he could do on his own. However...
[12:59 AM] Kwakado: "Wellll, that sure shut 'im up quick!" By now, the whole crowd was tossing pages at Sula. Their apparent "leader" shakes his shaggy white hair as he looks over the kite. A burly, bandanna-clad woman beside him lifts Sula by the throat as she speaks: "...but I thoughtcha said ya didn't have any gold on ya? Huh?!"
[1:02 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Pardon meeeeeeeee!" Elwyn shouted as Michel galloped towards the group attacking Sula.
[1:07 AM] Kwakado: "gODS---" The mob scatters to steer clear of the horseman, and the woman holding Sula lets go. The man holding the kite, however, has the misfortune of a head-on collision as Michel runs right over him.
[1:16 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Sula!" Elwyn stopped and dismounted Michel, watching his step as to not step on the man. "I'll take that." He smiled as he nabbed the kite.
[1:16 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Thank the Gods I found you, I don't know what would've happened if I didn't come and help..." He handed Sula the kite back.
[1:23 AM] Kwakado: "Elwyn-na, what are you--" Sula's hand receives the kite, but his eyes are watching the ruffians. Some of them stop and turn back, seeing the two unarmed men seeming to get along. "..the hell's this?!" "...ya bitch.." "pickin a fight--" "hey!"
[1:24 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "No time to explain, I suppose!" Elwyn grabbed Sula and got back on Michel. "Let's go!"
[1:26 AM] Kwakado: "Dyoiti-bo!" Sula hurries onto the back of the saddle. The bandanna woman, calling him something in Hoshidan, grabs at his golden sleeves but only snags the silver of the kite, tearing it in two as they flee the shantytown.
[1:28 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Sula, who were they?" Elwyn asked as he kept his eyes on the road as they rode away.
[1:31 AM] Kwakado: "Khlin-i. Men who gave up on their kingdom, just as it gave up on them." Sula purses his lips, taking great care to stay mounted. He was not very used to being on this end of the saddle.
[1:31 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "You didn't have anything to do with them, why'd they pick a fight?"
[1:34 AM] Kwakado: "Hmm...it seems I forgot to ask!" Sula grins grimly, letting his shoulders rise. "I wonder...was it for letting Shimi-e rest too long? Or getting lost going around that roadblock?"
[1:35 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Sula." Michel came to a stop and Elwyn turned to him.
[1:36 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "I'm fairly sure that letting a pegasus rest wouldn't get you beaten up and threatened. Especially being called out if you're looking for 'ya little brat.'" He mocked the men as he tried to mimic their tone.
[1:37 AM] Kwakado: "Ha ha ha!" The performance seems to bring him some relief, and he lets out a rhythmic laugh. "No, no, to be true..." "...I think they did not like my, outfit."(edited)
[2:09 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Ah." He looked down and frowned. "I...see, I suppose it's like that here too..."
[2:11 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Were you hurt badly?" Elwyn put his hand on Sula's shoulder. "You can't answer with a lie, I'll heal you anyways." He smiled as he pulled out a Mend stave.
[2:16 AM] Kwakado: "Mm, they were full of fire today. Most times people just want to use their words...yet, even this, was not so bad. Ba-ba." Sula makes no attempts to stop the healer from doing his duty, however. "They must have thought a foreign man with such, colors, could only feel pain from wounding his fortunes."
[2:17 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "...I'm sorry about your kite and book...
[2:22 AM] Kwakado: "...not mine." Sula's face clamps down like a silent jaw, and a little breeze rushes from his nostrils. "..Bo-tumo, just like they said. They were for...ya little brat." Sula's voice turns rough for the last few words, giving an impression of the muggers that is completely different from Elwyn's - yet not any more accurate.
[2:30 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "...Oh, my Gods..."
[2:30 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "They belonged to...Leodin?" He held what was left of the kite and book.
[2:31 AM] Kwakado: "Uu......no. To be true, I have a..student, back in Khlin."
[2:32 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Oh! Where are they now? I'd love to meet them!"
[2:37 AM] Kwakado: Sula points south. "The capital city of In-tetsu. Her birthday has just passed, but we will be going by in a few weeks."
[3:00 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Ah..." Elwyn looked back down to the book and kite sadly, they must have been gifts foer her...
[3:00 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "...Why don't we go together and see if we can buy gifts for her then?"
[3:50 AM] Kwakado: "Elwyn-no...I have been looking for gifts all day, ha. This student comes from a great family, you know. Only the best!"
December 13, 2016
[3:51 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Only the best, hm?" Elwyn put his hand to his chin and pondered on what would fit. He personally thought that it would be ridiculous, children find fun in anything. Elwyn looked back at the time he gave one of his charms to a child before the incidents. "Ah!" He clapped his hands together and smiled. "I've got the perfect gift idea."
[3:51 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "We should search, not for gifts, but for materials."
December 15, 2016
[3:02 AM] Kwakado: "Materials? Do you mean, mining for pearls?"
[3:06 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "N-Not quite..." He raised a finger and smiled. "We're going to buy them, of course! Though, mining does sound fun!" He giggled and put his hands down. "If we can't buy the perfect gift, why not make it?"
[3:07 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Do you still have some of Shimi's feathers?"
[3:09 AM] Kwakado: "Ha, many of them now! All these fights make her wings busy!" Sula plucks a handful from his robe, handing it to the monk.
[3:10 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Great!" He took them and stored them within his own robes. "Quick question, what month and day was your student born?"
[3:56 AM] Kwakado: "It was, the fourth day of Septem-ber."(edited)
[12:53 PM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "So it's that month..." Elwyn put his hand to his chin and stood in thought. "Well, leave it to me!" He smiled. "I'll be back with an amazing gift for your student, and back with a fixed kite as well!"
[12:53 PM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "I managed to fix your suit, so fixing a kite should be just as easy..."
[12:58 PM] Kwakado: "Truly a fine healer...ha, Elwyn-no!" Sula perked up, remembering something. "That, tome...do you have it?"
[1:47 PM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Oh, that thing? I left it with that...um...I don't believe I asked for her name, but I think she's the blacksmiths assistant."(edited)
[2:12 PM] Kwakado: "You gave it to the blacksmiths?!" Sula inhales sharply, with a bemused look on his face.
[11:16 PM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Oh, not exactly. I was looking for help cause i got CURSED." He emphasized the last part as he glared at Sula. "Anyways, the girl there, I believe her name was Regie? Yeah. She apparently knew how to solve my problem, and..." Elwyn shivered as he remembered the experience. "That was the end of the curse. I also became mute for a few days as a result. Oh, I also threw the book and stomped on it."
[11:58 PM] Kwakado: "So it held a curse...." Sula shakes his head. "I should never have given---Re-ji?"
December 16, 2016
[12:11 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "My skin kept rotting away!"
[12:12 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "The requirements were kind of weird, though...I had to speak my mind so it wouldn't rot..." He thought about scolding Sula for not knowing it held a curse, like, Sula refused at first! Shouldn't he have known? "...But yes, it was Regie. Do you know her?"
[12:13 AM] Kwakado: "She solved a little problem of mine too...ha, ha, ha." Sula stretched his fingers out. "A strong magician, for one so young."
December 20, 2016
[3:30 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: me: (never replies) anyways
[3:31 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Well, that she is...but I suppose you should talk about the book to her yourself. I...believe she's afraid of me."
[3:37 AM] Kwakado: "Oh, you too? Ha ha ha! I wonder if she has a fear of holy men!" The Dwabi holds his empty palms out. "But Sula-o is not a holy man, so she has nothing to fear."(edited)
[8:33 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "..." Elwyn didn't want to ask on why Sula asked that. "Anyways, I'll prepare something for your student and It'll be ready as soon as possible so you can give it to them when you see them again! I'll try my best to fix the kite too." He smiled at Sula as he held the kite.
[12:40 PM] Kwakado: "You never rest, on good deeds, do you..." Sula gave Elwyn's shoulder a light pat. "But do not tire yourself out, li-bi? That time is a long way away."(edited)
December 22, 2016
[4:57 AM] Mango | Lord of the Castle: "Of course. When have I ever tired myself out?" Elwyn chuckled. But deep down inside he knew. He Knew. "You just stay on Michel." Elwyn dismounted. "He knows the way back. I, on the other hand, will go out looking for the best materials to make the best birthday present ever."
December 25, 2016
[12:02 PM] Kwakado: "Kwemo, then." Sula continues riding away, impressed by how well-trained the mount is as they depart.(edited)
[1:43 PM] Kwakado: ======END RP=======
