[6:43 PM] Kwakado: Under the dimming sky...
Sula sits aside Shimi on the roof of the castle, letting his legs dangle off the edge as he looks eastward over Amaterasu, to the foreboding mountains. His usual robe is a little worn and torn from all the combat over the past few weeks, and his right sleeve is completely gone.(edited)
[6:47 PM] Kwakado: " Sula Kwemo a-shi-shwe ~ Kwemo hey Nanyooo ~ " He sings absentmindedly, looking across the rest of the countryside. To the north, was the land of the dragons. To the west, was the land he'd abandoned twice now. To the south, a land he never wanted to go back to...and yet he would.(edited)
[7:14 PM] REWlego: Leodin wanted to find a good view of the Amaterasu.
He was hoping for his trip here to be a break from the constant fighting like he had endured in his homeland, but that didn't seem to be the case anymore.
He needed to rest. Not to sleep, or to go to his room, but to find a place to sit down and enjoy some time alone, to feel the wind on his face, and dream about how things could have turned out. That sounded nice...
He found his way to the roof that Sula was on. Leodin took one look and thought about if he should risk ruining his solemn time alone by talking to him.
Leodin thought, and realized that he and Sula hadn't had the best relationship for quite a while. Leodin walks over and sits next to Sula, not saying a word.
[7:20 PM] Kwakado: Sula glances back, seeing a familiar shadowy figure approach, and looks back out over the rainforest. Next to him is a wooden pipe full of burnt-up Khlinese herbs, the smell of which still wafts faintly through the air.
[7:21 PM] Kwakado: The Dwabi hums. He takes a moment to decide where to start...then two...then three....and he instead just waits for Leodin. Too much had happened. Too much to ask, to apologize.(edited)
[7:26 PM] Kwakado: Finally, Sula shifts to the side, scooting back from the precipice, and takes a look at Leodin. The diviner's own eyes look as weary as his wardrobe, and his brow is heavy with regret and relief. But the boy beside him is masked...had this time changed him as much as it had Sula?[7:3
[7:34 PM] REWlego: Leodin sets his mask to his side and keeps his eyes closed as he feels the wind go through his hair. He listens to Shimi's hooves, to the trees in the distance, to his own breath, clearing his thoughts. He's never meditated before, but he now understands the purpose of it.
[7:37 PM] Kwakado: Following suit, Sula continues in an extended "Ommm...." and communes with the gentle breeze, closing his weary eyes. For a moment, he finds some semblance of peace, united with the boy by the purity of emptiness. But then he starts to fall asleep, so he stops, opening his eyes.
[7:39 PM] REWlego: When Sula opens his eyes, he can find two bright blue eyes looking at him. Leodin still stays quiet and awaits a response. His expression doesn't show sadness, but just thoughtfulness.
[7:42 PM] Kwakado: "........That finishing move you did at the throne. Very interesting how you threw your sword, ha ha ha." Sula's face is still, sleepy, but without the usual fake smile.(edited)
[7:49 PM] REWlego: He shrugs.
"I get carried away sometimes..."
Leodin recounts in his head how he and Kalenzo took down the monster at the throne.
[7:50 PM] Kwakado: "It was good to see you, Leo-e. I had wondered where you were..since the festival." Sula pulls his legs back onto the roof.
[7:53 PM] REWlego: "Why were you wondering about me? We weren't on the best of terms if I recall...."
His tone doesn't turn aggressive, but it's not lighthearted either.
[7:56 PM] Kwakado: "Ha...That is why I wondered. A poisoned path...makes a man sick. I did not want you to get lost, but...." Sula looks over at his right arm, the spiralling black tattoos of his station fully exposed for once. "...Truly, Sula-o was the one to wonder about."
[7:57 PM] REWlego: "How have you been then? How is Vivianna?"
[8:01 PM] Kwakado: "Ha ha ha ha ha..." Sula scanned Leodin's face, with a crooked smile of his own. There were many things he could say here, any of which would hurt Leodin. "...We have...all been battling against forces from the Spirit World, since the festival. I wonder how any of hus have been."
[8:03 PM] REWlego: "So... you don't know about Vivi? I haven't seen her for a while, and I'm worried about her. How's she holding up?"
[8:05 PM] Kwakado: "She was, attacked, in the north ward. But n-now she is healing, and resting. I, uu, took her there..." Sula's smile grew a little brighter, despite the worrisome words it spoke.
[8:08 PM] REWlego: "Why'd you take her there? And why are you smiling about it?"
[8:12 PM] Kwakado: "Because she was injured! Would you--Oh..." Sula nodded gravely. "No, she went to the raid on her own."
[8:14 PM] REWlego: "And the second part? Why were you just smiling? That's not something you do when talking about someone getting injured... Especially someone that I- that we both love."
[8:17 PM] Kwakado: "She is getting better! I am glad!" Sula holds back any semblance of a smile. "I have...seen the future, and Vivi-e does not die."
[8:18 PM] REWlego: "O-okay... You're still avoiding the question. Why?"
[8:21 PM] Kwakado: Sula sighed, realizing he would just hear it from her later. "We are...fianceé, now. Engaged."
[8:23 PM] REWlego: Leodin becomes speechless. He blinks a few times and then looks forward, away from Sula. Away from everything.
[8:25 PM] Kwakado: Sula places a hand atop his armored shoulder. "F-forgive me, Leo-e..."
[8:27 PM] REWlego: He looks like he's going to swat the hand away but decides not to.
"Why? Why do you seek forgiveness?"
[8:29 PM] Kwakado: "...It should have been you. Vivi-e does not deserve someone like me, and we both know that..but..." He tries unsuccessfully to hold back another smile.(edited)
[8:34 PM] REWlego: He looks a bit angered when he says it should have been Leodin.
"No, it shouldn't be me. She doesn't love me. She loves you, Sula. If she loved me, she wouldn't have turned me down. How do you think she'd react if she heard the man she chose to marry saying that she made the wrong decision?"
As he speaks, his tone gets more defensive, hating that fact that Sula is doubting Vivianna.
[8:39 PM] Kwakado: "I am happy with her choice, of course...I love her too, Leo-e. And I wonder if I can give her a happy life...after everything I have done." He shows Leodin the wooden vial of "medicine" from the last time they met, fighting over Ariana. "You said I was going to do nothing...but the truth was much worse. ...I was going to burn Arian-na alive with this."(edited)
[8:44 PM] REWlego: He's a bit confused at first from the mention of Ariana, but then it starts to make sense.
"Why didn't you?"
[8:47 PM] Kwakado: "You stopped me, and gave her back to Kaza-ma. The last time I saw her, we were defending Lady Lunare-a from the demons, while you were up protecting Ellis-u."
[8:49 PM] REWlego: "I, well, I wasn't protecting her specifically..."
[8:49 PM] Kwakado: "..Oh, truly? I did not know."
[8:50 PM] REWlego: "Where'd you get that idea anyway?"
He starts to sound a little bit defensive.
[8:53 PM] Kwakado: "You came here to protect the candidates, I thought..." A puzzled look comes over the Dwabi. "...I was with one princess, and since Ellis-u was going to help you, it seemed...like that was where you would be."(edited)
[8:55 PM] REWlego: "I guess that's a logical way to think... To be honest, there was actually a lot of us fighting... I didn't see Lady Ellis until after everything had settled down."
[8:58 PM] Kwakado: "Ha ha ha....At least it has settled down. It looks like my future will stay in the world of dreams, then...now that the army of demons is gone." Sula doesn't sound entirely convinced, though.
[9:01 PM] REWlego: "For now at least... I hope Ellis and Lunarea still try to stay safe. After something like that, you can't be too careful. Especially Lady Ellis. She doesn't have the fighting experience that her sister has."
[9:06 PM] Kwakado: "...I never thought, even for a moment...." Sula's head turns down to the wrecked city, and he folds his hands over his knees. "...that they would be the ones struck by war, and not the ones behind it..."
[9:14 PM] REWlego: "Freyzenwald doesn't deserve this..."
He lets out a quick, exaggerated exhale.
[9:16 PM] Kwakado: "I wonder. First demons, now Galla-ran...If they survive this war, what comes after?" Sula runs a finger along his unpierced heart. "What will the gods send to Freyzenwald next?"(edited)
[9:19 PM] REWlego: "I'd like to hope it's nothing for a long time... But when the next thing comes, I'll be here."
[9:21 PM] Kwakado: "Ah...so you are staying in the castle, then?" Sula gives a dim smile. "That is good...we will be passing through Khlin, on the way south, and it would be difficult..."(edited)
[9:25 PM] REWlego: "Oh um.. I didn't actually think about staying here... It was never really something I considered... I have no desire to go back to Khlin though."
[9:27 PM] Kwakado: "Ha ha ha ha! Careful, Leo-e...you are starting to sound too much like Sula-u." He looks back out into the distance. "I have no home now, except Vivi-e..."(edited)
[9:32 PM] REWlego: "Yeah yeah, but now that you've given me the idea, I might want to stay at the castle... It's something I'll need to think about."
[9:35 PM] Kwakado: "I have not truly decided, either..." Sula, tired of pondering either his past or his future, moves on. "...How did you enjoy the festival? ...The beginning of it?"(edited)
[9:42 PM] REWlego: "The festival... I got to attend for a short time and enjoyed it, but other than that... I... I don't want to talk about it."
[9:44 PM] Kwakado: "True..." Sula nods. "Not many happy things left to talk about, ha ha. But at least you still have your health."(edited)
[9:47 PM] REWlego: "Uh... I guess so..."
[9:50 PM] Kwakado: "Did you know, that certain members of the Oligarchy got reports on the war every week, when it was the wildest?" Sula sits higher, looking to Leodin's unmasked face, while turning a palm upwards.(edited)
[9:52 PM] REWlego: "I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me... The Stormblades haven't been part of the oligarchy for a long time."
[9:58 PM] Kwakado: "Yes, and you know how your parents feel about that better than I do..." Sula smiles coldly. "..They had Sokonaro leak each of these reports to them. But then they never opened a single one of the letters...just left them out in the study with all the other collections, to be forgotten." He gives a hollow laugh, recalling how easy it was to smuggle them out. "You were very busy, those years."
[10:03 PM] REWlego: "How do you know? Did the reports include me in them?"
[6:55 PM] Kwakado: "A man wearing armor as black as the night, yes. They started just calling him Black-Night, to keep it short. Sula-o was not sure, of course, even when the name "Stormblade" was with him...But seeing you now, I know they meant..."
[6:59 PM] REWlego: "Interesting name they gave me..."
[7:03 PM] Kwakado: "It is a name that suits only the mask...and not the man." Sula's brow furrowed. "You are a bright, honest young man, underneath all this darkness. And I should never have doubted that."
[7:06 PM] REWlego: "Thank you Sula... It means a lot to hear you say that."
[7:11 PM] Kwakado: Sula reclines on his side, holding his head in his hand as he balances it on his elbow. "Elwyn-na tried to tell me, too. About how Vivi-e felt. But I thought he was only mocking an old man..." He sighs. "Then you came to help your friend, and learn the truth...just to find out that Sula-o was too afraid to trust you with his love, ha!"(edited)
[7:18 PM] REWlego: "Yes... I was quite mad at you then."
[7:21 PM] Kwakado: "Of course! And the whole time, I wondered if you were going to try to...do what I did to you." Sula's posture relaxes even more somehow. "Lying to Lunare-a, to destroy your Keij-i with them...But you were very good at keeping control of your anger, then!"(edited)
[7:26 PM] REWlego: "I try to be, but sometimes I just can't..."
[7:31 PM] Kwakado: "Gods, I would have hit you, if you said those things! Making them think you had...romantic feelings for Ellis-u, ha! I hope they knew it was all a lie!"
[7:32 PM] REWlego: Leodin stays silent.
[7:35 PM] Kwakado: "Truly, they know it was all for Khlin, yes?"
[7:36 PM] REWlego: "Uh.. maybe... I guess so."
[7:37 PM] Kwakado: Sula's head tilts upright. "...Leo-e?"
[7:38 PM] REWlego: "M-maybe at first, but... I don't know now..."
[7:43 PM] Kwakado: He blinks twice, leaning in to him. "Leo-e, you...truly?"
[7:43 PM] Kwakado: A tanned palm rises to his brow.
[7:44 PM] REWlego: Leodin doesn't answer. He just looks away.(edited)

[7:52 PM] REWlego: "I uh... I don't know... Not yet."
[7:55 PM] Kwakado: "Yes, yes, ha ha ha..." The Dwabi looks over to a wooden bowl of water sitting beside him. "Ellis-u is, very hard to read....."
[7:57 PM] REWlego: "Okay... and?"
[7:59 PM] Kwakado: Sula shrugged his palms out. giving only a weary expression. He wasn't sure whether to offer to help or not.
[8:00 PM] REWlego: "Nothing else to say?"
[8:05 PM] Kwakado: "It is your life to live, Leo-a. I am sure you do not need any help from a holy man, but..."

[8:18 PM] Kwakado: Sula lays a hand on the side of the bowl. "The Pelai can look into the future of the heart...I could learn the truth of your fate."
[8:19 PM] REWlego: "I... I don't know... what if I don't like what I see?"
[8:20 PM] Kwakado: "The choice is yours, Leo-e. I have never known you to be one who ran from danger, ha ha ha."
[8:22 PM] REWlego: "O-okay... Let's do it then."
[8:24 PM] Kwakado: Sula brings the bowl between them, humming loudly as he clears his head. He extends his palms toward Leodin, turning them up in preparation to receive the boy's own hands.(edited)

[8:27 PM] REWlego: Leodin takes a deep breath and then puts his forward to Sula's.
[8:29 PM] Kwakado: And the fallen Aishatu promptly dunks his head into it, gazing in through the water across time.
[8:32 PM] Kwakado: He sees a sea of pink flowers dancing around him, feeling the tight cold embrace of Godfried's armor.
[8:33 PM] Kwakado: Then suddenly...a piercing pain to his chest. Then another. Leodin's cry of anguish erupts from his mouth, and his legs begin to flee from the pain.
[8:34 PM] Kwakado: The scent of Rhylias lingers.
[8:35 PM] Kwakado: And his face splashes out, betraying the weight of the future's memories to the boy in front of him as his hands recoil.
[8:35 PM] Kwakado: "Ommm...." Sula centers his heart. "...I see, Rhylia, in your future, Leo-e...."
[8:38 PM] REWlego: "Well.. she likes rhylias... what does that mean?"
[8:45 PM] Kwakado: A crooked, weary smile wriggles up the bottom of his face. "Well...you will be getting, very close to them. As if surrounded."(edited)
[8:46 PM] REWlego: "Huh... okay..."
[8:51 PM] Kwakado: "Forgive me. These visions, used to be clearer, ha ha."
[8:51 PM] Kwakado: Sula strokes his forehead firmly.
"But I can say that going after Ellis-u....will cause you great pain."
[8:53 PM] REWlego: "H-how? What do you mean?"
[9:02 PM] Kwakado: "I cannot say, for sure...You heard me. Ellis-u is hard to read. I still wonder if she shares your feelings...but it could be many things."
[9:04 PM] Kwakado: Sula starts to stand up, slowly.
"Her kingdom is being destroyed from every side. Her sister has taken the throne from her. And you, are a child of Stormblade, who fights against Stormblade..." His face sinks into a sympathetic frown.
[9:05 PM] Kwakado: "I want to tell you, to stay away from her, so you are not hurt."(edited)
[9:06 PM] REWlego: "You want to? Then why not just say it then?"
[9:06 PM] Kwakado: "Because then I would have to say it to myself, ha ha ha. And I won't." His eyes give a joyful glimmer, but the frown remains.
[9:07 PM] REWlego: "O-okay... Then what should I do?"
[9:08 PM] Kwakado: "Omm..." Sula clasps his hands together and stretches his legs out. "You know the truth. What does your heart say back to it?"
[9:09 PM] REWlego: "I... I don't know..."
[9:12 PM] Kwakado: "There is, more to Ellis-u than she lets from her mask. More than anyone can see...except the ones closest to her."(edited)
[9:26 PM] REWlego: "That.... that doesn't change how I feel... I'm sorry."
[9:31 PM] Kwakado: "Of course not. The same was true for Vivi-e...and yet I chose the pain."(edited)
[9:33 PM] REWlego: "I-is it worth it?"
[9:34 PM] Kwakado: He gives an deep, honest chuckle. "We will see."
[9:34 PM] REWlego: "Then so shall I."
[9:35 PM] Kwakado: "But I must ask you:"
[9:35 PM] Kwakado: Sula clears his throat, taking quite a bit of time.
[9:36 PM] Kwakado: "Do you not also love the Khlin-i?"
[9:36 PM] Kwakado: His eyes narrow into slits.
[9:37 PM] Kwakado: "Does Ellis-o not also love the Frey-zen?"
[9:37 PM] Kwakado: His head bows forward a few inches.
[9:37 PM] Kwakado: "If these loves all drift, down different paths...what will you let go?"(edited)
[9:38 PM] REWlego: "W-what do you mean? Am I going to have to make a choice? Is that something you saw?"
[9:41 PM] Kwakado: "In the future I saw, Leo-a was too wounded to go on, and had to retreat from his chosen path....this choice might tear you apart." A tear slides from Sula's left eye, sliding down his weathered face like a thunderbolt.
[9:44 PM] REWlego: "Sula..."
Leodin puts a hand on his shoulder.
"You don't need to worry, I'm sure that when that time comes, I will be able to make the right decision."
[9:47 PM] Kwakado: "I trust you...truly.." He starts to shrug it off, but his shoulder stills itself, and he lets out a long sigh. "And someday I will trust Sula-u." His legs stretch out even wider,(edited)
[9:51 PM] REWlego: "Come on, Sula.. Why don't we head back into the castle?"
[9:52 PM] Kwakado: "Nna." He starts picking up his belongings, and makes his way across the roof to Shimi. "This one needs some time to fly."
[9:53 PM] Kwakado: Sula mounts her at a lumbering pace, waving to Leodin. "Whatever you do, Leo-e...do not disappear again! Come find me!"
[9:54 PM] REWlego: Leodin walks over to Shimi.
"Don't worry, I won't."
"And I'm gonna have to fly you again soon, girl." he says to Shimi.
[9:55 PM] Kwakado: Sula nods. "Ba, Shimi-e!" And they take off, before Sula realizes that he completely forgot to tell Leodin where his room even was.(edited)
[9:57 PM] REWlego: Leodin watches Sula and Shimi fly away before heading back inside the castle.
