Paralogue 4: A Romantic Relationship with Elwyn

Featuring: Leodin, Kazama, Elwyn

The usual dumpling store meeting takes on a more somber mood as Kazama and Elwyn struggle with their feelings for each other - all in front of a frustrated Leodin. Elwyn tries passing it off as a fever, but when he leaves under the pretense of fetching his horse Leodin confronts Kazama about the relationship. He responds with genuine surprise, alluding to having gone for "centuries" without love, which leads to Leodin sharing the legend of his role model Godfried the Bold. Kazama is overcome with a "fever" like Elwyn's and retires to his room, followed part of the way by Leodin.

[5:50 PM] REWlego: ((Time skip because of the last RP being paused)) Leodin is sitting in the corner of the dumpling restaurant next to the plaza. He's wearing his normal black armor and mask, and is hiding his sword underneath the table as he watches the plaza.(edited)

[5:52 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama, seemingly in a hurry, moves to the dumpling store. He orders two servings, and sits at a table outside of it, overlooking the plaza.

[5:52 PM] REWlego: Leodin watches Kazama walk in, looking at him with a mix of excitement and anger.

[6:19 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama eagerly watches the crowd. This should be the time...!

[6:22 PM] Mango: Right on time, Elwyn arrives by himself. He left Michel back at the inn.

[6:23 PM] REWlego: Great, they're both here...

[6:24 PM] Mango: "..." He's looking a little tired, he didn't sleep well last night after what happened.

[6:24 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama waves eagerly. "Elwyn! Elwyn, over here!"

[6:25 PM] REWlego: Leodin rests his head in his hands

[6:27 PM] Mango: "Kazama..." Elwyn noticed him.

[6:27 PM] Mango: Why did I have to see him now...?

[6:27 PM] Mango: "...?" Elwyn looked to the other side. "Leodin?"

[6:28 PM] AOMRocks20: "How are you? I got some dumplings for the two of us."

[6:28 PM] REWlego: Leodin raises his arm in a partial wave

[6:28 PM] Mango: "Oh, uh...thank you, I suppose..."

[6:28 PM] Mango: Elwyn couldn't look at Kazama.

[6:29 PM] AOMRocks20: "Is something wrong...?"

[6:29 PM] REWlego: Although the upper part of his face is hidden, it's clear that he's not very happy

[6:29 PM] Mango: "I...just noticed Leodin over there, I'll go say hi."

[6:30 PM] AOMRocks20: "Ah. Do you mind me joining you?" He stands up, holding the dumplings.

[6:30 PM] AOMRocks20: He hasn't touched them.

[6:30 PM] Mango: "If you'd like..."

[6:31 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama follows.

[6:32 PM] Mango: Elwyn sat across from Leodin. He looked down.

[6:32 PM] REWlego: Oh no.... they're coming over here, aren't they?

[6:32 PM] REWlego: "Uh... hi Elwyn." He says in a dull tone.

[6:32 PM] Mango: "...Hi."

[6:32 PM] REWlego: "Hey Kazama."

[6:32 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama sat next to Elwyn. He scooted a bit close to him. "Hello!"

[6:34 PM] AOMRocks20: He sat the dumplings down on the table.

[6:34 PM] REWlego: Leodin looks away from the two of them

[6:35 PM] REWlego: Leodin stays quiet and sits there in an awkward silence

[6:36 PM] AOMRocks20: "...Feeling better today, Elwyn?"

[6:36 PM] Mango: "Oh! Um..." Elwyn looked away. "...Yeah."

[6:36 PM] AOMRocks20: "...is something wrong?"

[6:37 PM] REWlego: Leodin looks back at Elwyn, curious what is going on

[6:38 PM] AOMRocks20: "Elwyn, are you quite alright?"

[6:40 PM] Mango: "...It's nothing!"

[6:41 PM] AOMRocks20: "Then you don't mind sharing it?"

[6:45 PM] Mango: "...There's really nothing, I'm just...I didn't sleep well."

[6:46 PM] REWlego: "It doesn't sound like that's the problem..." **Leodin's tone doesn't sound change much, but he still sounds concerned."

[6:46 PM] AOMRocks20: "Truly? Why's that?"

[6:51 PM] Mango: "It was the fever..."

[6:51 PM] AOMRocks20: "Ah. Did you keep the cloth on?"

[6:55 PM] Mango: "No, I didn't."

[6:56 PM] AOMRocks20: "That must've been the problem then. You could've been burning up..." Kazama feels Elwyn's forehead.

[6:57 PM] Mango: "W-Wait...!"

[6:58 PM] REWlego: Leodin tilts his head to the side in confusion

[6:58 PM] AOMRocks20: "What?"

[6:59 PM] Mango: "..." Elwyn closed his eyes and grasped at his robes.

[7:00 PM] Mango: "I'm fine..."

[7:01 PM] REWlego: "Elwyn... I'm not going to force you to say anything, but if you're bothered by something we said or did, then you should let us know."

[7:01 PM] AOMRocks20: "...You're obviously not." He looks over Elwyn. "I agree with Leodin. Perhaps you need another bath?"

[7:09 PM] Mango: "Really, I'm fine..."

[7:11 PM] AOMRocks20: "I... cannot say that I agree. Is there anything I could do to help you? Anything at all?"

[7:12 PM] REWlego: Or me, I guess you forgot about me

[7:12 PM] Mango: "This'll pass, you two don't really have to worry about me..."

[7:13 PM] AOMRocks20: "Elwyn, you couldn't be more wrong."

[7:13 PM] REWlego: Leodin nods

[7:15 PM] AOMRocks20: "I--and Leodin--essentially have a sworn duty to worry about you."

[7:15 PM] Mango: "Sworn duty...? Since when?"

[7:16 PM] AOMRocks20: "Since that occasion in the castle. We'll always look out for you."

[7:17 PM] REWlego: "For me, I promised to myself that I would help you since the moment I told you I was going with you to Nohr."

[7:17 PM] AOMRocks20: "Even though it is my job, technically, to worry about everyone, for you it goes further than that.

[7:20 PM] REWlego: "Same for me." Although I'm not payed to protect people...

[7:23 PM] Mango: Elwyn had a small smile. "You two always know what to say..."

[7:23 PM] Mango: He was glad, but what Kazama said stinged to him.

[7:28 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama grins under his mask. "I mean every word of it. I would break my body in defense of you."

[7:28 PM] AOMRocks20: "A-and Leodin. I'm sure Leodin also thinks so." He fidgets with his mask.

[7:29 PM] REWlego: Why did he stutter when talking about me?

[7:30 PM] REWlego: "Yes...." Leodin says in an inquisitive tone. In a more firm voice he says, "Of course I would."

[7:41 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama places a hand on Elwyn's shoulder. "If you have anything that's a problem or you want to ask, just say so. We're completely transparent."

[7:41 PM] REWlego: Leodin glares at Kazama from behind his mask

[7:53 PM] Mango: "..." Elwyn looks away. "I know, and I'm very grateful."

[7:53 PM] Mango: "I'm just...nervous." About this crush... "Nervous about the party."

[7:55 PM] AOMRocks20: He chuckles. "Why's that?"

[7:57 PM] Mango: "I've never been to a foreign formal event..."

[7:58 PM] Mango: "Would I look weird? Like, Leodin is wearing his mask, and so are you...but I don't know if that's normal or not..."

[7:59 PM] AOMRocks20: "Well, I'm a ninja. That's sort of part of my outfit."

[7:59 PM] REWlego: "Well, to be honest, I'm not planning on socializing... I'm mainly going to be watching from the rooftops. I'm sure you'll look great with whatever you decide to wear." Jeez, Kazama is going to be so mad I just said that.

[8:01 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama nods. "I couldn't agree more. Anything looks great on you."

[8:01 PM] Mango: Elwyn blushed. "Thanks..."

[8:02 PM] REWlego: Leodin shows a slight smile and nods

[8:03 PM] REWlego: Then goes back to a neutral facial expression

[8:05 PM] AOMRocks20: "Is that really the only thing you're concerned about?"

[8:09 PM] Mango: "Well...aside from that, nothing else comes to mind..." Except how my heart keeps racing around you...

[8:10 PM] AOMRocks20: "Alright, then." Kazama holds up a dumpling. "So. Lunch?"

[8:20 PM] Mango: "Oh, right!"

[8:21 PM] Mango: "You brought two servings, right?"(edited)

[8:22 PM] AOMRocks20: He nodded, handing one serving to Elwyn. "One for each of us. But, Leodin's here... Elwyn, do you mind if we share?"

[8:22 PM] REWlego: "No, no... I'm not hungry."

[8:23 PM] REWlego: "Go ahead, I'm not going to take a whole serving and leave you with half."

[8:24 PM] AOMRocks20: "Well, alright, then..." He starts digging into his own serving, removing his mask. He's a bit pink.

[8:27 PM] Mango: Elwyn eat his serving while looking away.

[8:28 PM] REWlego: Those two aren't being very subtle.... Do they even recognize that I'm watching them?

[8:28 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama scooted a bit closer to Elwyn.

[8:28 PM] AOMRocks20: nom nom

[8:29 PM] REWlego: What the heck Kazama? I'm right in front of your face!

[8:36 PM] Mango: Elwyn choked on his food after he saw Kazama scoot closer.

[8:37 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama quickly glanced toward Elwyn, expression serious. His mouth, however, was full of dumpling. "Yhhrrhight?"

[8:37 PM] REWlego: Gods....

[8:39 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama swallows. "Elwyn? Are you okay?"

[8:40 PM] Mango: "I'm fine, fine! I just...choked up after eating this wonderful dumpling!" He pushed the box to Leodin with a panicked expression on his face. Please help him. "You should really try it!"

[8:41 PM] AOMRocks20: He nods. "Ah... I see. Not a problem, then." He returned to his dumplings.

[8:42 PM] REWlego: What have I gotten myself into?! "Uh, maybe I could have a little bit....?"

[8:44 PM] REWlego: Leodin slowly grabs a dumpling and breaks off a very small piece

[8:44 PM] Mango: "So..? How is it?"

[8:46 PM] REWlego: "It's very good, thank you...."

[8:47 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama isn't even facing Elwyn.

[8:47 PM] AOMRocks20: He's entranced by the dumplings.

[8:48 PM] Mango: Elwyn sighed. He's turned his attention away now...

[8:48 PM] Mango: "So, Leodin...what did you do when you left yesterday?"

[8:49 PM] REWlego: "I ah.... just watched the plaza..." Leodin is a very bad liar Why am I so bad under pressure?!

[8:58 PM] Mango: "Really? Did anything interesting happen?"

[8:58 PM] Mango: Elwyn started to look more relaxed,

[9:01 PM] REWlego: "Well, not really... It was a fairly normal day yesterday..." Except for watching you two go off on Michel

[9:10 PM] Mango: "I see...nothing really interesting happened with us, I did end up getting a fever. So there's that..."

[9:10 PM] REWlego: Nothing interesting? Yeah....

[9:11 PM] REWlego: "Oh..... well, I hope that it does get better."

[9:11 PM] AOMRocks20: "It's odd. I've tried all the typical ways to prevent a fever, but nothing's working."

[9:12 PM] REWlego: Why do I get the feeling that it's not really a fever...?

[9:13 PM] REWlego: "Hm, strange... I'm sorry that you're not feeling well."

[9:31 PM] Mango: "Oh, it's fine..."

[9:31 PM] Mango: "I'm sure it'll just...go away on it's own." Elwyn looked down at his food.

[9:35 PM] REWlego: "I... um... Okay then."

[9:41 PM] AOMRocks20: "In any case--" nom nom "I hope it'sh gone shoon."

[9:41 PM] REWlego: Leodin nods, not looking at Kazama.

[9:48 PM] Mango: Elwyn suddenly stood up from his seat. "I'll...be going now."

[9:48 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama looks. "Mm? What'sh wrong?"

[9:49 PM] Mango: "I'm going to go pick up Michel, you two just...finish your food."

[9:50 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama shrugged. "I'm already done."

[9:50 PM] REWlego: "I never had anything else..."

[9:50 PM] AOMRocks20: "I suppose I'll wait here with Leodin. It's been a while since we talked."

[9:50 PM] REWlego: We just talked yesterday...

[9:51 PM] REWlego: "Alright... Good luck with your fever, Elwyn..." Leodin gives a weak smile

[9:53 PM] Mango: "Thank you, I hope you two have a good day."

[9:54 PM] AOMRocks20: He nods, waving. "Come back soon!"

[9:54 PM] Mango: He bowed and smiled sadly.

[9:54 PM] REWlego: Leodin nods "You too."

[9:56 PM] Mango: Elwyn hesitated, he wanted to say something. But he decided against it and left.

[9:56 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama sighs. "I worry for him so much."

[9:57 PM] REWlego: Leodin's gaze snapped straight at Kazama as soon as Elwyn was out of sight

[9:57 PM] REWlego: "Mhm..."

[9:59 PM] REWlego: Leodin leaned slightly towards Kazama and whispered, "Don't think I didn't see you riding off with Elwyn on Michel yesterday..."

[9:59 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama raised an eyebrow. "Were you... watching us?"

[10:00 PM] REWlego: "I was watching the plaza, and I wanted to make sure you were safe" Leodin's tone got a little defensive.

[10:01 PM] AOMRocks20: "I see. I can assure you, we were fine."

[10:02 PM] REWlego: "Well I don't agree with your definition of 'fine'."

[10:03 PM] AOMRocks20: "Pardon?"

[10:04 PM] REWlego: "I suppose you wouldn't understand..." Leodin scoffs "Well I'm telling you that I don't appreciate you two riding off behind my back without even telling me afterwords."

[10:05 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama raises an eyebrow. "You don't appreciate us enjoying ourselves?"

[10:06 PM] REWlego: "I thought we were a group of friends... I guess your intentions don't really involve me as much as I thought."

[10:06 PM] AOMRocks20: "Do you feel excluded?"

[10:06 PM] AOMRocks20: "It seems that way, I'm just confirming."

[10:09 PM] REWlego: "I feel like your main objective is to get into a romantic relationship with Elwyn. If so, then I have no reason to be here."

[10:10 PM] AOMRocks20: "You're... very to the point, I suppose."

[10:11 PM] AOMRocks20: "If I've been spending too much time with Elwyn, I apologize. I haven't had a romantic relationship in... centuries."

[10:11 PM] REWlego: centuries?

[10:12 PM] AOMRocks20: "However, I'll repeat what I said--if Elwyn does not want to make an advance, I can understand that."

[10:13 PM] AOMRocks20: "I'm sorry if it's felt like I've left you out in our group of friends."

[10:14 PM] REWlego: "I... I sort of expected you to be more defensive..." Leodin's posture and tone softens "I'm sorry for being so hostile."

[10:15 PM] AOMRocks20: "Of course not. I've nothing to hide." Kazama waves his hand. "It's no problem. Really."

[10:16 PM] REWlego: "Really...? Well, I don't expect you to spend any less time with Elwyn, but please... If you want to be alone with him, it's not like you have anything to hide from me."

[10:17 PM] AOMRocks20: "Of course. Obviously."

[10:17 PM] AOMRocks20: "Perhaps we could spend more time together?"

[10:20 PM] REWlego: "Actually, that would be great... Even though I was very angry at you just a few minutes ago, I'm glad that we were able to sort this out... Thank you Kazama."

[10:20 PM] AOMRocks20: He nods. "It's no problem. Got anything else you'd like to ask me?"

[10:24 PM] REWlego: "Well... I feel that, especially yesterday, I am greatly ignored... I just ask that if you decide to go somewhere with Elwyn, just let me know. It doesn't even need to be an invitation, but I felt somewhat betrayed last night."

[10:25 PM] AOMRocks20: "...You know, I feel like that makes sense."

[10:25 PM] REWlego: "How so?"

[10:26 PM] AOMRocks20: "If two of my friends ran off to have a good time while I had to watch, I would probably feel a little betrayed, too."

[10:26 PM] REWlego: "I'm glad that you understand where I'm coming from."

[10:28 PM] AOMRocks20: "...Something is wrong with Elwyn. It shouldn't take him this long to grab Michel."

[10:29 PM] REWlego: "I had assumed he left to rest."

[10:29 PM] REWlego: "Which reminds me... You don't seriously think he has a fever, right?"

[10:30 PM] AOMRocks20: "I doubt it. He was hot last night, but he was no different the last time I felt him earlier."

[10:31 PM] REWlego: "I'm surprised you haven't caught on by now..." Leodin chuckles

[10:33 PM] AOMRocks20: "Well, he was suddenly tired and collapsed after we stopped riding, so I wasn't sure."

[10:34 PM] REWlego: Leodin almost bursts out laughing, but stops himself, grinning at Kazama

[10:34 PM] AOMRocks20: "...what?"

[10:35 PM] REWlego: "Really? You don't know?"

[10:37 PM] REWlego: "It's clear as day to me that Elwyn is obviously warm and fainting because he likes you."

[10:39 PM] AOMRocks20: "...truly?"

[10:39 PM] REWlego: "I'm serious... I am quite surprised that you didn't catch on."

[10:42 PM] AOMRocks20: "Well, as I said. It's been some time since I've been in a relationship."

[10:42 PM] REWlego: "Yeah... centuries you said..."

[10:43 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama chuckles. "You didn't take that seriously, did you?"

[10:44 PM] REWlego: "Well, no.... You're not saying it's true, right? If it is, then you look very young for your age."(edited)

[10:45 PM] AOMRocks20: "Of course not. Nobody lives for centuries, Leodin. It's just not possible."

[10:46 PM] REWlego: "That's what I thought..."

[10:54 PM] AOMRocks20: 'If there was a way that would be possible, that would be surprising..."

[10:56 PM] REWlego: "I would say so!" Leodin chuckles "That person would be fascinating to meet though... Think of how much experience they would have."

[11:06 PM] AOMRocks20: "Yes, I'm sure..." He has no idea...

[11:12 PM] REWlego: "Well, speaking of experience, you haven't ever really told me much about what you've done in your life before you helped the royal family."

[11:23 PM] AOMRocks20: "Ah. Well, I mostly... wandered."

[11:23 PM] REWlego: "Any... elaboration?"

[11:25 PM] AOMRocks20: "Not really. I just... went across the lands, I suppose, helping people how I could."

[11:26 PM] REWlego: "That sounds noble enough... What made you decide to work for the princess?"

[11:27 PM] AOMRocks20: "I... thought I could better use my services by serving them."

[11:28 PM] REWlego: "Hm, okay. You thought that focusing your efforts in one place was better that traveling across the continent?"

[11:33 PM] AOMRocks20: "Yes. Yes, that's why..."

[11:34 PM] REWlego: I don't know why he's acting so strange...

[11:34 PM] REWlego: "Well, they're lucky to have you here."

[11:35 PM] AOMRocks20: "I thought the same. My skills are very difficult to just learn."

[11:36 PM] AOMRocks20: "It takes years for people to train."

[11:37 PM] REWlego: Leodin smiles and nods

[11:38 PM] REWlego: "My uncle was not technically a ninja, but his skills were similar to one."

[11:39 PM] AOMRocks20: "I see."

[11:42 PM] REWlego: "He was actually one of the driving forces in bringing the rebellion in Khlin close to victory."

[11:44 PM] AOMRocks20: "Hrm... what was his name?"

[11:45 PM] REWlego: Crap... I don't want to give to much about my family... I guess telling a friend wouldn't hurt?

[11:46 PM] REWlego: "His name was Godfried Stormblade, but the Khlinese know him better as Godfried the Bold." Gods, that sounds cheesier when you say it out loud...

[11:47 PM] AOMRocks20: Hrm... Sounds familiar. "I see, I see... yes..."

[11:47 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama stares down into his empty dumpling box.

[11:48 PM] REWlego: Leodin follows Kazama's gaze "Oh, uh..." Leodin laughs nervously "I would offer to get you some more, but..... I don't have any money."

[11:49 PM] AOMRocks20: Kazama is silent. He adjusts his ninja mask.

[11:51 PM] REWlego: "I - Sorry... I just don't have any form of steady income... I spend my days watching the plaza, so I have no way to earn money."

[11:51 PM] AOMRocks20: "...it is not the problem."

[11:51 PM] REWlego: "Oh? What's wrong?"

[11:52 PM] AOMRocks20: "I... I cannot..." Kazama leans forward, head in his hands.

[11:54 PM] REWlego: Leodin puts his hand on Kazama's shoulder "Kazama... I... What's the matter? Please, I'd like to help..."

[11:55 PM] AOMRocks20: "Leodin..."

[11:56 PM] REWlego: "...." Leodin's face turns to extreme concern

[11:57 PM] AOMRocks20: He quickly rises. "I have duties, I'm afraid. I must tend to Princess Ellis. Give Elwyn my apologies."

[11:59 PM] REWlego: "Kazama.... Please, you don't seem well." Leodin stands and walks next to Kazama and puts both hands on his shoulders "I promise to do anything I can to help... I'm genuinely concerned."

[12:00 AM] AOMRocks20: "Leodin. Release me." If Kazama is showing any emotion, his mask hides it.

[12:01 AM] REWlego: "I... If you insist..." Leodin lowers his arms "I'm sorry... If you need anything, please... I'm more than happy to help."

[12:02 AM] AOMRocks20: Kazama nods. "Goodbye." And as quickly as the wind, he vanishes.

[12:03 AM] REWlego: I'm really worried about him... I wonder if it has anything do do with Elwyn?

[12:04 AM] REWlego: Leodin walks out and perches himself back on a rooftop, his main priority to find Elwyn or Kazama.

[12:05 AM] AOMRocks20: Leodin catches Kazama entering the castle.

[12:06 AM] REWlego: Leodin doesn't talk to him, but follows him at a safe to make sure he's okay

[12:06 AM] AOMRocks20: Kazama enters the castle, goes to a room that's most likely his, and enters it.

[12:07 AM] REWlego: Leodin goes up to the door, but changes his mind and steps back for a moment

[12:08 AM] REWlego: If he knocks on the door, then Kazama will know he's following him, but if he doesn't, then he could be missing an opportunity to help his friend

[12:14 AM] REWlego: He waits for a few minutes, to see or hear if anything happens

[12:14 AM] AOMRocks20: Leodin hears nothing.

[12:18 AM] REWlego: Leodin leaves the castle and goes back to the rooftop, trying to search for Elwyn

[12:18 AM] REWlego: Did I really make the right choice?
